About the role: This role will provide cross-divisional category expertise for Novartis Technical Operations in USA, to proactively carry out continuous analysis, frequently re-align the local activities with the global category strategy as well as support the strategy execution in the assigned area.
About the Role
Major accountabilities:
- Supports continuous improvement and leads implementation of updates/refresh of global/regional category strategy in collaboration with the countries/category teams. The role will also be implementing local strategies that can bring further efficiencies to the site.
- Responsible for the collection of supplier, market, category and internal business data and information.
- Ensures the delivery of measurable value for Novartis, through alignment of business requirements, strategic sourcing expertise, supplier market intelligence, financial productivity, and mitigation of risk.
- Supports data quality management within Procurement function according to the globally and locally defined process to identify opportunities and to support continuous improvement and assures the delivery of services according to defined KPIs and Service Levels.
- Responsible for CAPEX /OPEX such categories as: production, design and construction; production equipment, machinery, and supplies; facilities management; utilities; health, safety and environmental services; lab maintenance and supplies; and analytical services for any manufacturing site in Novartis. Various of these categories are managed globally such as equipment and quality, being very important to work as a team with our GCMs (Global Category Managers).
Minimum Requirements:
- University/Advanced degree is required.
- Stakeholder management
- 2 years of Procurement experience and contracting experience.
- Experience in navigating in global, matrix organizations and across geographies and cultures.
- Experience in sourcing processes (e.g. RFI/RFQ), negotiation strategies, project management, good communication and collaboration skills as well as market analysis capabilities to drive operational excellence
- Advanced English
